Tenant Profile - Genomes.io

ONE BioHub welcomed Genomes.io, the first co-working tenant. ONE BioHub co-working provides flexible monthly shared office working space for founders and employees of registered businesses working within life sciences across biotech, medtech and digital health technology including start-ups, university spinouts and scaling businesses.

Genomes.io uses a secure DNA data storage and sharing application that allows users to sequence, store and commercialise their genomic data and enables biotech organisations to access genomic data equitably.

Aldo de Pape, Founder at Genomes.io said, “Locating ourselves at ONE BioHub aligned with our goals to establish ourselves in the ecosystem and grow the company. Being based at ONE BioHub allows collaboration with the life science ecosystem, and the support and opportunities from ONE enable us to accelerate our business. The co-working space itself provides a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, featuring smaller meeting rooms for private discussions.

I admire the ambition of ONE BioHub and the role it takes in ensuring that the biotech industry has a significant and growing voice in Scotland and the UK. The biotech and life sciences community are impressive whilst remaining collaborative and open.”

Genomes.io aim to further expand their customer portfolio in a few years which will result in more people with a vault active on their infrastructure and will serve the genomic querying needs of hundreds of organisations active in genomics such as pharma companies, research institutions and other DNA players in the market. Genomes.io aim to build the world’s largest, user-owned genomics database.

Aldo commented further, “The monthly Bio Buzz coffee morning held at ONE BioHub, has provided the opportunity to network with life sciences professionals and discuss current topics in the sector. Furthermore, I’ve been grateful to be part of the ONE and Scottish Development International (SDI) international investor network, giving me the opportunity to pitch and network with a substantial group of global investors which has led to further discussions.”
