Entrepreneurship in Life Sciences

North east Scotland is an innovative and enterprising region. Opportunity North East (ONE) and partners are making more of these strengths to achieve a just transition to the future, low-carbon economy.

  • Investing in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and innovation infrastructure.

  • Supporting founders and innovators to turn new ideas and research into solutions, products and services and take them to market.

  • And creating high-growth businesses and new jobs.

Aberdeen’s universities and research institutes are world-class ideas factories. ONE is working with them to embed entrepreneurship alongside excellence in education and research.

Academic and entrepreneurial research leader Professor Mirela Delibegovic from the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Aberdeen is using entrepreneurship to enhance her work and its impact and inspire innovators to commercialise solutions to global health challenges. She shared her story of working with ONE and the difference it made to her at the Transforming our Region through Entrepreneurship annual event in June.
